One of the first things you might notice when you take any cannabidiol (CBD) product is that you don’t seem to feel any difference.

It’s a common misconception among first-time CBD-users that they will notice when the CBD finally “hits” them similarly to what they’d expect from smoking marijuana or when eating edibles or gummies that contain THC.

The reality is that most people don’t report feeling any different when taking CBD.

In fact, we like to think of CBD as a preventative measure, especially when it comes to using CBD for anxiety, sleeplessness, and reducing stress. With CBD, it’s about what you do not feel.

With that being said, CBD-users who understand it won’t get them high still report that CBD isn’t working for them.

If you’ve used CBD without any results, you’re not alone, but before you hang it up and decide that CBD is not for you, we recommend checking out our reasons why CBD may not be working.

Who knows? Maybe if you change a few things up, CBD might work wonders!

#1: YOU’RE NOT TAKING THE RIGHT AMOUNT

Many people, when first taking CBD, have absolutely no clue how much to take. They might hear from their friend that they take 10mg per day or another may take 30mg. While the standard recommendation is 10mg-20mg per day, everyone is different and needs to play around with their dosage before finding what works best.

The next few times you take CBD, experiment with the dosage amount so that you can get a better idea of what works for you.

#2: WRONG TYPE OF PRODUCT

Depending on what you’re hoping to achieve with CBD, it’s entirely possible that you are using the wrong type of CBD product. For instance, if your goal is to reduce anxiety by using CBD, applying a CBD cream to your skin isn’t going to do much to help you. Similarly, if you’re aiming to alleviate the pain in your knee, perhaps that same CBD cream will be more effective than taking a CBD gummy.

When choosing the type of product, it’s important to understand your goals and then act accordingly.

So if one type of delivery system isn’t working for you, trying a new method or product could be in your best interest.

#3: LOW-QUALITY CBD

All CBD products are NOT created equal!

Since CBD is an extremely popular product, the market has been flooded with low-quality products that are entirely ineffective.

Whenever you’re looking for a new CBD product, it’s important to look at three things: reviews from previous customers, third-party lab results, and the brand’s popularity.

Using a CBD product from a brand with good reviews and is trusted by many is a good way of ensuring that you’re using a high-quality product. With that being said, the most important thing you can do is look and see if the brand lists any third-party lab results that reveal how CBD is actually in the product.

In 2017, researchers set out to find out the quality of 84 CBD brands and found out that only 31% contained the amount of CBD advertised on their products.

Since the industry is still in its infancy, there are plenty of brands trying to make a quick buck.

Any brand that is passionate about producing and selling high-quality CBD products will provide a third-party lab test for you to examine freely.

So, if the CBD brand you’re using doesn’t seem to be working, maybe it’s time to look elsewhere!
